Yesterday, the Oklahoma City Thunder beat up on the Dallas Mavericks, cruising to a near 20-point victory by a final score of 108-89. As is the case with blowouts, frustrations tend to boil over, and that cost Mavs forward Charlie Villanueva the right to play in yesterday’s game, after he tried to choke Thunder guard Russell Westbrook.

In the second quarter with the Thunder up 13, Mavs point guard J.J. Barea delivered a hard foul to Westbrook, resulting in a brief scuffle between both teams. It was during that moment of slight chaos that Villanueva and Westbrook found themselves face to face, at which point Villanueva grabbed Westbrook by the throat. Naturally, Westbrook was asked about his and Barea’s chippy play and the Villanueva incident after the game, and in classic Westbrook fashion, the All-Star point guard chose to answer other questions. Questions that no one was actually asking.
