After a career year in Dallas with the Cowboys in 2014-2015, DeMarco Murray left Texas for Philadelphia, specifically, a 5-year, $42 million contract with Chip Kelly‘s supposed high-flying Eagles, and their revolutionary offense. Unfortunately for Murray (and the Eagles), the offense was anything other than game-changing, and Murray fell flat in a high profile year, and he quickly fell out of favor in Philadelphia, already a city with a short fuse for athletes. Trade rumors quickly developed, but both new head coach Doug Pederson and Murray were heard in the media expressing their will to keep Murray’s status with the team intact. Those efforts don’t appear as if they were fruitful.

ESPN reported just a short while ago that a deal is being finalized that will send DeMarco Murray to the Tennessee Titans. The deal, which is expected to be finalized in 48 hours, was confirmed by Murray’s agents on Twitter, and apparently involves a new contract.

Once this deal is final, Murray will join 2015 NFL Draft #2 pick Marcus Mariota as the leaders of a revamped Titan offense that will undoubtedly look to compete in a wide open AFC South.
