Syd the Kid‘s ridiculously groovy, genre-blending collective of instrumentalists and vocalists, The Internet, released their third opus, Ego Death, last summer, and it earned them a well-deserved GRAMMY nomination, for Best Urban Contemporary Album. Supported by bangers like “Go With It” and “Girl,” the album may have flown under mainstream radars–it debuted at #89 on the Billboard 200–but, quite appropriately, it’s become an essential part of any internet kid’s playback repertoire. From the nostalgic g-funk bass lines to the tranquil nature of Syd’s harmonies, there’s something here for everyone, and that sentiment is made quite obvious by their newest set of visuals, a double-feature for “Special Affair” and “Curse,” featuring a segment of the woozy “Palace” as an interlude.
