Nardwuar the Human Serviette, arguably the most thorough interviewer of rappers in the media, has persevered through intermittent health issues to return to doing what he does best, which is freak rappers out with his ornate knowledge of their personal and professional lives. DJ Khaled isn’t really a rapper, but don’t let that fool you. Add this to Nardwuar’s greatest hits collection.
Khaled and Nardwuar met on their collision course in SxSW over the weekend, where they discussed everything from Khaled once having a job at Shoney’s to his preference of vinyl over compact disc. Naturally, Nardwuar came bearing gifts, including a specific vinyl that held significance to Khaled that had been infused with actual menstrual blood (the aesthetic touch of a particular artist Khaled had sampled in the past).
(The vinyl freaked Khaled out so much he quite literally tossed it away from him.)
