Rihanna‘s “Work” was released towards the end of January, but it has only gained momentum since then. With ANTI officially out in the streets and Rihanna’s ANTI World Tour fully underway, “Work” is f*cking up the charts on auto-pilot, and is now enjoying an eighth consecutive week at #1, despite strong performances from newer hits like Meghan Trainor‘s “No,” which landed at #3 once again this week, and Lukas Graham‘s “7 Years.”

Rihanna, with some help from Drake, who is featured on “Work,” is making history while she’s at it with her latest run at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. With her 8th consecutive #1 finish, Rih Rih has tied The Beatles for second all-time in cumulative finishes atop the chart, trailing behind Mariah Carey, who leads the all-time list at 79 weeks.

Next week, if Rihanna can finish at #1 again with “Work,” she will sit solely in second place on that list. Considering the fact that Mariah Carey’s rate of hit-making has slowed up significantly, isn’t impractical to believe Rih could be in pole position sooner than later.
