In a must-win game last night [Thursday, May 26] the Golden State Warriors prevailed over the Oklahoma City Thunder, 120-111, in a tightly contested game that was close throughout. The Warriors are now down by only one game, with the series at 3-2.
The Warriors outlasted the Thunder, who did not go down without a fight. For every run the Warriors went on, the Thunder responded, entering the fourth quarter only down by four points. With only 40 seconds to go, the Thunder were only down by six points, but the Warriors managed to survive and come out with the win.
Russell Westbrook, who has been dominating this series, and his match up with Steph Curry, had another great night, coming close to a triple-double, with 31 points, eight assists and seven rebounds. Kevin Durant also had a great game, dropping 40 points, but it was not enough in the end to overcome the Splash Brothers, who combined for 58 points.
The Warriors will need to repeat this performance on the road in Oklahoma if they want to have a chance to take this series to Game 7. It would be foolish to count the reigning champions out, but the Thunder will be feeling confident as they return home, needing to win only one game to advance to the NBA Finals.
Game 6 should be a great game, so make sure you clear your schedule, grab some popcorn and tune in on Saturday, May 28 at 9pm ET on TNT.
