According to The Hollywood Reporter, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows took in $2 million yesterday [Thursday, June 2] in previews, which sets it up for a successful opening weekend.

The first installment of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise brought in $4.6 million from the previews and went on to earn $65.6 million upon its debut. It eventually took in $493.2 million in worldwide sales.

The Hollywood Reporter projects the sequel will pull in around $35-40 million dollars this weekend, which is a decent number compared to the first movie. It will most likely beat out X-Men: Apocalypse, which debuted last weekend, for the top spot this weekend.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows kicks off Hollywood’s blockbuster summer, with other giant films coming out soon, such as Matt Damon reprising his role in Jason Bourne, the highly anticipated sequel Finding Dory, a remake of Ghostbusters, and the star-studded Suicide Squad, to name a few.
