The violations that have been struck in Washington State by Comcast have led to a multi-million dollar lawsuit. Washington State is not at all happy about the impact Comcast’s “pattern of deceptive practices” has led to the lawsuit, and the state of Washington is looking to teach Comcast a lesson.
Customers from the company were charged a total of $73 million worth of services that Comcast said their customers would not be charged for. However, these customers were charged anyway. Even when it came down to home service repairs, the company still charged, even when they were at fault.
“Given that we were committed to continue working collaboratively with the Attorney General’s office, we’re surprised and disappointed that they have instead chosen litigation. We stand behind our products and services and will vigorously defend ourselves,” said Comcast’s Jenni Moyer.
These violations have had an impact to over 500,000 customers, according to the Attorney General’s office. As this lawsuit progresses, the service plans that covers the Comcast customers will likely be fixed.
