Kevin Garnett and Allen Iverson will both go down as two of the best players to ever compete in the NBA, but long before they stepped foot on a professional court they battled it out in 1993 at the Nike Hoops Festival All-Star Game.
Iverson played both SG and PG in the game, while Garnett dominated at the Center position, impressing scouts with his defensive skills.
Garnett went on to get drafted in 1995 by the Minnesota Timberwolves, who he may retire with before this season starts. He accomplished his greatest feat as a member of the 2008 Boston Celtics, winning the NBA title.
Iverson was drafted a year later by the Philadelphia 76ers, a team he lead for 10 years before being traded to the Denver Nuggets to team up with Carmelo Anthony. In the 2000-2001 season Iverson won the NBA’s Most Valuable Player award and lead his team to the NBA Finals before losing to the Kobe-Shaq Lakers in five games.
