Today Pharrell delivered two news songs,”Runnin'” and “Surrender” with Lalah Hathaway.
Both songs are taken from the Hidden Figures soundtrack, which stars Janelle Monáe, Octavia Spencer and Taraji P. Henson as mathematicians working for NASA’s Langley Research Center. Pharrell also co-produced the film along with writing original music for the film’s soundtrack.
The last time Pharell released a solo track was back in 2014 when he dropped G I R L, but in that time he’s been producing and collaborating with other artists including A$AP Rocky for his song “Hear Me,” Cassius and Cat Power on “Go Up,” and also executive produced Little Big Town’s Wanderlust album. He has also been hosting his Apple Music Beats 1 show OTHERtone with guests like Kid Cudi, Tyler, the Creator, and Justin Timberlake.
