Exactly two years ago today Run the Jewels released Run the Jewels 2. Today Killer Mike and El-P have delivered the first single from Run the Jewels 3 entitled, “Talk to Me.”
“Today is the two-year anniversary of RTJ2. Feels like a good day to…,” El-P tweeted before dropping a link to the song. The duo initially debuted the track, then called “Scenes,” back in April at Coachella.
The song was produced by El-P and co-produced by Little Shalimar and Wilder Zoby. On it, we find two duo relentlessly rapping, with Killer Mike kicking it off:
“Went to war with the devil and Satan / He wore a bad toupee and a spray tan … Obey no rules / I’m doing me / Smoked kush transportin’ to the airport / Customs found a joint in my passport / Cool cash and I gave him what he asked for / Goddamn it’s a motherfucking miracle / Small bribe, made it back into America / Hit Uber and maneuvered out the area”
The pair dropped previously released, “Panther Like a Panther,” in the Gears of War 4 trailer, but it’s unknown if that song will be appear on RTJ3.
