Colin Kaepernick’s decision to take a knee during the national anthem before an NFL game on the day of September 1st, 2016 has been a central topic of attack over the past year. While some mainstream media outlets have been on a mission to flip the narrative about his reason behind the protest, which was to shed light on the racial injustice faced by blacks and people of color along with the immoral cases of police brutality, Colin has been highly active at remaining low-key about his desires to play football via his effective philanthropic efforts.
The former 49ers quarterback opted out of his 49ers contract earlier this year in March, making himself a free agent and has been yet to be signed to a new team. An abundance of quarterbacks in the NFL, whose skills are feeble compared to Kaepernick’s, have been signed post his “freedom”.
It’s pretty blatant that most team owners are wary about signing the player, ever since his “controversial” on-field protest.
CBS reporter Jason La Confora did an off-camera interview with Kaepernick where he reportedly expressed how he will workout anywhere for an NFL team as long as the workout is kept private. Kaepernick is seeking the opportunity to play football and wants to simply be judged as a football player, according to Yahoo Sports.
During his televised report on The NFL Today, when La Confora was asked by anchor James Brown, “And kneeling, he said?” The reporter replied, “He’s not planning on kneeling. He’s going to donate all his jersey sales and he’s planning on standing for the anthem if given the opportunity, J.B.”
After La Confora’s claim aired, social media went ablaze in mass confusion and anger about Kaepernick’s reported decision to submit to standing during the anthem for the sake of playing football again.
Kaepernick’s better half took to Twitter to set the record straight about the accuracy of such report.
The reports that Colin will stand for the anthem are completely false! He has never discussed this with anyone. pic.twitter.com/tWusUBJMeF

Moments later, Kaepernick felt it was the perfect time to share this quote:
A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.
