This national campaign, rooted in feminine backlash to Trumpism, gave voice to the “Me Too” and “Times Up” movement.  While many celebrities spoke at the march, Viola Davis took the cake by delivering a riveting speech to a teary eyed audience.

In her speech she references Malcolm X, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Rosa Parks and Recy Taylor. She also petitioned all to look past her status as an Academy Award winning actress and see her as a survivor and an advocate for women like her who like her who either have survived the ills of poverty and misogyny or trapped in its evil grips.
