When the United States formed on July 4, 1776, one of her founding principles was democracy. 242 years later, Donald Trump has expressed his support for ending presidential term limits in America.

In case you missed it, Chinese President Xi Jinping recently consolidated power over the communist land. Although Trump represents the land of the free, he spoke highly of Jinping’s decision as he addressed Republican donors at a private speech.

According to CNN, he stated the following:

“Maybe we’ll give that a shot someday. He’s now president for life. President for life. And he’s great,”And look, he was able to do that. I think it’s great,” he added.

Seeming to ramble, he expressed his displeasure with the active Russia investigation in comparison to the handling of Hillary Clinton‘s FBI investigation. CNN says the speech was hopeful but comical as well. Likewise, he used the speech to issue personal attacks on former President George W. Bush.

“I’m telling you, it’s a rigged system, folks. I’ve been saying that for a long time. It’s a rigged system. And we don’t have the right people in there yet. We have a lot of great people, but certain things, we don’t have the right people,” said Trump.

He often appears as though his speeches lack structure. Especially when he discusses multiple topics without establishing clear links between the topics. Further addressing Mrs. Clinton he states:

“Is Hillary a happy person? Do you think she’s happy?” Trump said. “When she goes home at night, does she say, ‘What a great life?’ I don’t think so. You never know. I hope she’s happy.”

Then, he goes on to describe President Bush’s decision to invade Iraq  as “the single worse decision ever made.” Further equating it to “throwing a big fat brick into a hornet’s nest,” he said.

“That was Bush. Another real genius. That was Bush.”That turned out to be wonderful intelligence. Great intelligence agency there.”

Clearly, he has been a source of division since taking office. If in the event, we do see an end to presidential term limits in the U.S., let’s pray he is no longer in office.
