“I plead him not guilty and my client maintains his innocence,” said private attorney Mauricio Padilla, who was handpicked by Williams’ family. “It’s difficult when you’re dealing with media cases because as you know they take a life of their own nowadays with social media. But we’re really focused on trying this case in a court of law and not in the court of public opinion.”

Authorities believe Williams was in the vehicle that blocked XXX from driving away. According to enforcement, Williams and another suspect, who is still at large, were both armed when they confronted the “Sad!” rapper.

While the case still unfolds and a federal investigation continues for the remaining two suspects, a public memorial with an open-casket viewing has been scheduled for today in Florida.
