Casanova sat down with The Source to give insight on the inspirations for his new EP, which includes collaborations from fellow rap heavyweights Fabolous, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, and Rich The Kid, and how he keeps his rhymes real, raw, and genuine.

The New York rapper says that in his raps, “everything is me; you’re just going to get me. Everything I say is something that I been through or something that I’m going through.”

Though every rapper is influential in their own way, they all have learned tips in the industry from other artists. Casanova shares that he learned the “cheat code” to the studio from R&B artist Chris Brown. He says, “the cheat code is to book the studio session and go no matter how bad you feel.” Whether you are turnt, angry, upset, or tired, NY rapper says that your emotions bring different types of energy in the booth.

Commissary is currently available on Apple Music, Tidal, and Spotify.
