More news and updates regarding the final days of XXXTentacion’s life continue to emerge. The latest reveal is XXX just signed a $10 million deal for his third album just a few weeks before he was slain in Florida.
The New York Times reports the “SAD!” rapper and independent label Empire had reached a deal for his third album. Empire previously worked with XXX who assisted in the release of his first album 17. There was “a significant amount of material” that was created for the album, but there was not a current timeline for release to the public.
XXXTentacion’s second album, ?, was released on Caroline through Universal Music Group and was created under a $6 million deal. Due to the parameters of that deal, the new effort won’t be heard until October at the earliest.
In other news regarding XXX, last week both of his albums charted in the Billboard 200. Prior to his death he also drafted a will and seemingly predicted his death was coming by creating a video for “SAD!,” which features him attending his own funeral.
