Angela Bassett Hints at the Future of Her ‘Queen Ramonda’ Character in Marvel Films

When the Queen leaves her throne to do battle you know it’s serious. So when Angela Bassett’s Black Panther character Queen Ramonda sheds her majestic garments in the sequel you know it will be serious. While speaking with ABC News regarding her role in the new Mission Impossible flick, conversation shifts back to Wakanda where the legendary actress speaks on the future of her character.

The venture into the Marvel Cinematic Universe begins when Bassett is asked about the fate her character saw after the now infamous finger snap from Thanos.

“I think she’s still there in the throne room,” Bassett said. “Or she’s safely ensconced in the Wakandan Palace, because we didn’t see her ‘poof’ into ashes — her or Shuri. So mama and baby girl are going to have to right this world back together, because it was pretty much decimated…in the last ‘Avengers.'”

Beyond the fourth film in the Avengers series, Bassett states you will see her Queen alter ego “throw down” in Black Panther 2 when somehow T’Challa returns from the dead.
