Marijuana has become legalized in various parts of the country and it appeared the movement would continue in further years. That’s if President Donald Trump doesn’t come crashing down on the market. According to Buzzfeed, the Commander-in-Chief has taken aim on marijuana and created a secret committee in opposition to marijuana.

President Trump has aligned 14 federal agencies and the Drug Enforcement Agency to college “data demonstrating the most significant negative trends” on marijuana. The current belief is the details surrounding marijuana, with more states looking toward legalization, is there is only information that highlights the perceived positives.

A memo from the committee reads: “Staff believe that if the administration is to turn the tide on increasing marijuana use there is an urgent need to message the facts about the negative impacts of marijuana use, production, and trafficking on national health safety, and security.”

In response to the report, the committee believes they are acting in line with “the President’s agenda.” The full statement is available below.
