The rift between Kanye West and Drake continues to widen. Starting with the OVO head and G.O.O.D Music president, Pusha T trading blows over the airways.
Drake has taken aim at Ye in various songs on his Scorpion album and freestyles. Still, West described Drake as a person who “loves Kanye West, loves everything I ever did.”
Yet, it seems the love and admiration is beginning to fade because Drizzy took offense to be left off the “Lift Yourself” beat. As a result, he sent Ye some purple demon emojis via text.
“I had to ask what are these purple demon emojis? When I found out what it meant, I started thinking about my family,” said Ye. “I don’t play that, we don’t play that. I don’t play rough, try to slap box or none of that. I got work to do out here.”
West maintains his all-business approach to music further adding that doesn’t do diss records either. Rapping is all fine and fun to him but clearly, the demon emoji text hit close to home.
Seeing Ye bend a bit based on an emoji-filled text is a bit surprising considering Kanye has never been afraid to get under the skin of bigger players such as Jay-Z and former President’s George Bush and Barack Obama Although many spoke against him, he stood firm on his support for the current president.
As far as Drake is concerned, we ask why not play these “rapper games” with Meek Mill or someone who might be willing to engage with him in the antics.
No one from the Dreamchasers camp received demon emojis nor did Pusha T. We would never advocate for an altercation between anyone in the industry but trying to bully Kanye is a weak move.
