Wednesday evening NYC’s top tastemakers and influencers came out for a private screening of InnerCity Films new star-studded romantic comedy LOVE JACKED at Ipic Theaters in Manhattan NYC. Lead actors Demetrius Grosse, Shamier Anderson and the film’s director Alfons Adetuyi were on deck for the pre-screening cocktail mixer and a candid Q&A following the movie.
Guests were ushered into the sensationally decorated Tuck Room to dine on crispy tuna rolls, short rib sliders and assorted pizzas while sipping on ‘The Fiance’ the signature cocktail of the night. The packed event included Donshea Hopkins (Power, The Bobby Brown Story), Ayisha Diaz (LHHNY) Ms Moe Money (LHHNY), Raqi Thunder (LHHNY), MAL (Joe Budden Podcast) Jack Thriller (media personality), Justin Xavier (VH1 Lala’s Full Court), Reign Global (influencer), Marquee (rapper), Nicci Hoo (comedienne), Coodie Rock (director) and a slew of other social media influencers and tastemakers who laughed throughout the knee-slapping hilariously funny film.
Following the film, actor Shamier Anderson spoke about how important this role was for him to portray as oppose to some of the stereotypical roles black men are offered in Hollywood. Director Alfons Adetuyi shared his favorite scene to shoot and the importance of showing Africa in another light. Demetrius Grosse and Shamier even shared a few tips to the fellas stuck in the friend zone before the evening came to in.
Snacks, soda, popcorn and treats by Koffi’s Jello bar were available to every attendee who raved about the theater and food but most importantly the incredible movie.
