Every brand has their signature go-to style, and for Vans it would have to be the fan-favorite checkerboard print that’s become a staple in modern-day footwear. Adding a slight “twist” to things, END. Clothing takes the popular design and warps it in a way that’s sure to turn heads amongst the wave of fall footwear.

Playing off a design originally worked on by artist Taka Hayashi, this optical eye-grabber takes the checkerboard pattern and gives it a fully distorted wave effect. The silhouette choices for this set include the Slip-On and Old Skool — both classics in their own right — with each constructed with a leather/heavy canvas upper, specially-designed insoles and a matching checkerboard box packaging to complete the overall theme. All in all, this collaborative set of footwear is on a wave of its own, and gives both shoe models available an eclectic finish that offers up something a little different for the new season.

The Vans x END. “Vertigo” Checkerboard Collection drops on December 8, with the Slip-On going for $101 USD and the Old Skool priced at $119 USD. Both will be available in the brand’s online store and through a special raffle, but take a closer look below without getting too nauseous:
