Mystikal has been in prison for the last 18 months and now is a free man after posting a $3 million bond. TMZ reports the “Danger” rapper was able to collect the bond money for his release as a result of an advance from a new recording deal and his family.
Mystikal, born Michael Tyler, has been held in a Louisiana prison since August of 2017 under the charges of first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping.
“It’s been a long time coming for Mike, but now he can get back to being the artist he is, doing what he loves, and seeing his kids again,” said attorney Tim Yazbeck.
Additional legal counsel for Mystikal details his belief that the rapper will not return to jail because he is innocent.
