Jussie Smollett receives supports from his tv-dad.
Many are still trying to decipher Jussie Smollet’s investigation. The Empire actor was indicted arrested this past week for filing a false police report, after his alleged attack in Chicago last month. Despite the removal of his character for the remainder of the show’s 5th season, Terrance Howard is standing by his side. Howard plays Lucious Lyon, who is the father of Smollett’s character, Jamal Lyon.
Howard posted a video on Instagram of Smollet playing with a child, who seems to be Howard’s son. He captioned the post, “All your lil homies got you. We love the hell out you.” He continued by firing back at critics.
“Stay in your lane and my lane is empathy and love and compassion for someone I’ve called my son for five years. It’s God’s job to judge and it’s ours to love and hope, especially for those that we claim to have loved.”
Fox issued its most recent statement after Smollett’s arrest. “We understand the seriousness of this matter and we respect the legal process. We are evaluating the situation and we are considering our options.
We’ll continue to watch and see if he can garner more support from his other co-stars. As of now, Terrance Howard is the first Empire co-star to comment on Smollett’s investigation.
