Back in July, Steve Stoute announced a nationwide search at Complexcon Chicago, to find 10 up-and-coming artists to be featured on the NBA 2K20 soundtrack. Through Stoute’s UnitedMasters distribution, these independent artists will engage with gamers all across the world. NBA 2K has become a cultural staple in this day and age and the soundtrack is a vital piece of the video game’s prominence. Now, these winners have a chance to be on the same soundtrack as some of the biggest artists in the world including, Drake, Travis Scott, J. Cole, Billie Eilish and more.

“Artists can now get discovered and launch their careers by having a song featured,” said Stoute. UnitedMasters will open that opportunity to independent artists and help curate the next generation of talent.”

Over 10,000 artists submitted their songs, but only 10 winners were selected. The 10 songs were handpicked by Stoute himself and NBA superstar Kevin Durant.

During the video, Kevin Durant seemed especially interested in one of the winners, Fourtee. The Newark, NJ native submitted “Freeze.” It’s a head-bopping fast-paced track seamlessly fitting for the NBA 2K start menu. Before the beat drops on the track, KD intriguingly asks, “Who this?” before going into a head bop of his own.

All 10 artists can be heard on the NBA 2K Soundtrack and streamed on Apple Music.
