NBA, NBPA and Nike to Honor Kobe and Gianna Bryant on NBA All-Star Uniforms

Yesterday, the NBA announced honoring the memory of Kobe Bryant with his jersey number of 24 being the target number for this year’s NBA All-Star game. The latest tribute will be visible on the uniforms worn through the weekend.

Players on Team LeBron will all wear No. 2 to honor Gianna Bryant and the members of Team Giannis will wear No. 24 to honor The Black Mamba. Throughout the weekend participants in events will wear patches with nine stars representing everyone who lost their lives this past Sunday.

The patches representing Kobe and Gianna Bryant, John, Keri and Alyssa Altobelli, Sarah and Payton Chester, Christina Mauser and Ara Zobayan will be visible during the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday.

The jerseys of the players in the NBA Rising Stars game will have patches featuring Nos. 2 and 24 surrounded by nine stars. That same patch will be on the uniforms State Farm All-Star Saturday Night participants competing in the Taco Bell Skills Challenge, MTN DEW 3-Point Contest, and AT&T Slam Dunk on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 8 p.m. ET.

The rosters for Team LeBron and Team Giannis will be revealed on TNT in the 2020 NBA All-Star Draft presented by Jordan Brand on Thursday, Feb 6. at 7 p.m. ET.
