Things are getting intense as the battle continues between Lizzo, Justin Raisen, Jeremiah Raisen, and Justin “Yeves” Rothman over the summertime anthem, “Truth Hurts.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, counterclaims were filed on Friday in California federal court, say that Lizzo and her credited produced weren’t the only ones who wrote ‘Truth Hurts.” Justin Raisen, Jeremiah Raisen, and Justin “Yves” Rothman allege that she would not have received a Grammy without their help.
In counterclaims, Raisen and Rothman present evidence to back up their claim which included and backed by attorneys of some notoriety, detailed text messages, photographs, emails, and sheet music.
As we previously reported, in October Lizzo filled documentation in federal court asking a judge not to give the three men any credit or royalties from ‘Truth Hurts.
Producer Justin Raisen has accused Lizzo of stealing the line “I just took a DNA test found out that I’m 100% that bitch,” which is featured in her top-charting hit “Truth Hurts.”
Raisen says that the catchy line was a collaborative effort between him, Lizzo, his brother Jeremiah Raisen, songwriter Jesse Saint John and songwriter Yves Rothman for a song called “Healthy.”
The musician, Mina Lioness, whose tweet inspired the song shared her excitement on Twitter.
