For the second time this month, Floyd is dealing with the passing of a family member. Floyd’s Uncle and trainer Roger Mayweather died on Wednesday after a long fight against diabetes. He was 58 years old.
“Thanks for always having my back Uncle Roger! RIP Black Mamba,” Floyd wrote on Instagram in a throwback Thursday post. As Floyd’s trainer, Roger Mayweather arguably made Floyd the greatest boxer of all time with a perfect 50-0 record.
Just before Roger’s passing, Floyd mourned the passing of the mother of his kids, Josie Harris. Harris was found dead in her car just over a week ago with the cause of death still undetermined. Harris and Mayweather had three kids together.
