African Saxophonist and songwriter, Manu Dibango has passed away from the Coronavirus.
The announcement was made on Manu Dibango’s official Facebook page, “It is with deep sadness that we announce to you the loss of Manu Dibango, our Papy Groove, who passed away on 24thof March 2020, further to Covid.”
The post also added the home going ceremony will be private,
“His funeral service will be held in strict privacy and tribute to his memory will be organized when possible.”
Last week Dibango was admitted to the hospital for symptoms linked to the Coronavirus.
Dibango whose most notable songs included “Soul Makossa” and “Big Blow,” was 86 years old.
