In an effort to raise the spirits of all of us confined to home, super producer and founder of Make Noise, Kwamé will host an “Old School” performance this Saturday, March 28 at 11 am EST on Instagram. The date will also be the rapper’s birthday.
The announcement hit Instagram on Monday stating the idea came from a conversation with Make noise artist Bobby J From Rockaway.
“Saturday is my birthday and I was going to do an old school live concert, then I thought what if I got my group The Alumni [which features fellow golden era hip-hop artists Chubb Rock, Dana Dane, Monie Love & Special Ed] to come on live and do one song, that would be so epic to have classic MC’s doing one song each!”. ‘The “One Song” Classic Hip-Hop Breakfast Jam’ Concert. Kwamé invited East Coast & West Coast legends Big Daddy Kane, Biz Markie, Doug E. Fresh, Kid ‘n’ Play, LL Cool J, Ice-Cube, J.J Fad and more to help lift our “quarantined spirits”
The concept follows the iconic Homeschool “Social Distancing” dance party hosted by DJ D-Nice, pulling in over 100,000 Instagram users.
Kwamé’s fans chimed in with a request for artists they would like to see, who will join the IG live session and give a one-song show from their own home. The guest list is a surprise.
“25 classic hip-hop artists responded to my little idea to partake in what will be another moment that will go down in Hip-Hip history with music helping the world, this is going to be real!” he shared online.
Make sure you tune in tomorrow Saturday, March 28th @ 11 AM EST to @kwamevision on Instagram Live for “The One Song Classic Hip-Hop Breakfast Jam’ Concert.
