Yesterday, the funk icon George Clinton joined The Source Instagram Live Session. Hosted by The Source owner L. Londell McMillan, the two talked about an array of topics.
Clinton has had a 50 year career that has bled across most music genres. As one of the most sampled artists since James Brown, Clinton’s perspective is extremely well-informed.
The two discussed the late Prince’s reluctance to allow people to sample his records. He even received a cease and desist from the Purple One himself.

Clinton is still going strong. He has a new record on the way and his grandchildren have a group called 3GP that he feels will change the game.
