25 year old Nathan Nakhmanovich is quickly rising in the spaces of music and advertising. Touting the name “@mogul” on instagram, you’d think he’s already a made man. Quite to the contrary, Nathan is just beginning his seemingly meteoric career shift. This fulltime release strategy guru spends most of his day scouring the internet analyzing trends and connecting people. Most recently, his work was featured on multiple publications for 6ix9ine’s new single “Gooba” where he secured the largest billboard in Times Square to premiere the news of the controversial artist’s release.
Coming from an immigrant family with an incredible story, Nakhmanovich is a first-generation American. His roots come from Ukrainian Jewish parents, which instilled hard work in dedication in the emerging digital marketing strategist. He grew up in the suburbs of New York, seeking the opportunity of leadership in his unique skill set. “I was always singing and showing others a fun time as a kid. Always happy go-lucky and full of energy,” he recites. And Mogul did just that, he’s now a successful business man running a full service company called Plug Talk Media.
Mogul gained a start in the music industry at 19 years old when he founded my independent record label Spotted Records while in college obtaining a bachelor’s degree in accounting. The label worked primarily in the Dance Music space, and helped create a community for budding producers. It helped formulate a platform for international talent, and then procured licensing deals, upstream deals, and other promotional listener-ship opportunities. Moreover, Mogul eventually saw another break through into the industry with playlisting, helping emerging talent land on major outlets with large outreach. “I focused on learning as much as I could, and put in an unbelievable amount of time towards research and relationship building,” he states about making it big.
“I’d like to go down in history as someone who made a difference,” Mogul recites. “Besides everyone’s typical goal of building generational wealth, I’d like for my name and legacy to live on in light of my work.” Whether it’s one thing or another, the budding New York creative has worked with tons of established talent and has no plans of slowing down. Expect to hear the name again in the forthcoming months.
