Meet Detroit’s rising singer Aaria. The 22-year-old artist has Trinidadian roots and an R&B vibe that is catching the attention of many. She’s currently managed by No Rules Ent. and just released visuals for her newest single “Thug Love.” The video has no other than rapper Trouble as her leading man. Watch the video here.
“Thug Love is a really special record to me. Not only because it’s my first release, but it’s real. I wanted to sing about something real to me, something I actually connected with and knew others would too. I’m very selective with men and not easily impressed. I don’t care how big your bag is, or what you say you can do for me; You gotta come with more than that. I’m looking for that Trustworthy, Humorous, Understanding, Genuine
man. That THUG love.”
Aaria recalls singing before she could even talk. She grew up surrounded by music in and outside of church. Her mom always had her in the studio with her when she was a baby and that earned Aaria the nickname “studio baby.” She began recording her own music at the age of 10. Her inspiration to create music comes based on what she’s sensing, experiencing or
feeling at the time. She also writes based on situations and stories her peers have shared with her.
“There are so many instances when I simply hear a track and it speaks to me, or I just begin to hear a melody or lyrics. I could be in the shower or just waking up in the morning, and it just happens. I’ve fallen in love with the process and spontaneity of songwriting; inspiration oftentimes is totally unpredictable.”
Aaria is currently working on her EP which is expected to drop later this year. Click here for more information on Aaria and check out her Instagram @aariasings.
