JAY-Z is giving fans a glimpse of his new film, The Book of Clarence. Hov returned to Instagram to drop off the trailer.
The biblical film, The Book of Clarence, stars LaKeith Stanfield as Clarence, a “streetwise but down-on-his-luck” man from Jerusalem. “Captivated by the power and glory of the rising Messiah and His apostles, he risks everything to carve his own path to a divine life, and ultimately discovers that the redemptive power of belief may be his only way out,” the film’s synopsis reads.
The movie is written and directed by Jeymes Samuel, with Hov, Samuel, James Lassiter, and Tendo Nagenda as producers. Joining Stanfield in the cast is Omar Sy, Anna Diop, RJ Cyler, David Oyelowo, Michael Ward, Alfre Woodard, Teyana Taylor, Caleb McLaughlin, Eric Kofi-Abrefa, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, James McAvoy, and Benedict Cumberbatch.
You can see the trailer below. The film drops in theaters in January 2024.
