Arnold, a freshman point guard for the UCONN Huskies, will support the Foundation’s mission through various events and presentations to promote education, leadership, and the inspirational value of Black Fives history. As a starter for the Huskies, Arnold has already significantly impacted the court, earning accolades such as BIG EAST Pre-Season Freshman of the Year and multiple Freshman of the Week honors.

With an impressive high school career with numerous awards and international recognition, Arnold brings a wealth of experience and talent to the partnership. She joins the Foundation alongside other notable basketball figures and volunteers, highlighting her commitment to giving back to the community and preserving the rich history of African Americans in the sport.

“KK first came to our attention in January 2020 as a freshman in high school by sending a blind email to our general mail box asking for help with a history class project she was doing on the Black Fives Era,” said Claude Johnson, the organization’s founder. “The result was that her presentation was selected for the school district’s regional competition, and it was the best Black Fives school project I had ever seen,” Johnson says. “But I had no idea at the time that she also played basketball!” The project still ranks as the GOAT, he adds.

“I am deeply honored to have this incredible opportunity to collaborate with Black Fives,” said Kamorea. “It’s remarkable how a project I did my freshman year of high school has evolved into such a meaningful partnership.”

The UCONN Women’s basketball team will further demonstrate their support for the Foundation by participating in a scheduled Black Fives game on February 7, 2024, against Seton Hall as part of the BIG EAST’s partnership with the Black Fives Foundation.
