Lil Baby is firing back at Atlanta Police after they said he was to blame for the murder of two teenagers.
Hitting his Instagram, Lil Baby wrote: “Thanks for all he concerns, please don’t be misinformed by fake news!! I’m overly good.”
Baby’s attorneys, Drew Findling and Marissa Goldberg, also told TMZ: “To say that he couldn’t shoot a music video in his hometown, a place that he loves and has continued to uplift, is disgraceful. Even more, the location for a major music video shoot is a decision made by a professional team and is not a decision made by any individual.”
The legal team also said the police department is “unprofessional, unethical, and shameful.”
Earlier this week, APD blamed Lil Baby for the death of two 13-year-olds. Calling the rapper “cowardly,” police state his actions sparked a chain of reactions that led to the murders of Jakody Davis and Lamon Freeman in July 2024.
Major Ralph Woolfolk of APD’s Violent Crime Interdiction Section stated Lil Baby filmed a music video in a rival gang area, sparking a gang war.
“The cowardly acts of an Atlanta-based rapper that decided to go into a rival gang stronghold in a place he knew he should not have been,” Woolfolk said, according to WSB-TV.
Warrants revealed Lil Baby was the rapper referenced. Three men were shot while the video was being filmed, and in the days following, several shootings and homicides were connected to the same video.
Police add the murder of the two teens was called in by a high-ranking member of the gang opposing Lil Baby’s. The call was made from jail using a contraband cell phone.
Woolfork stated his team will “work relentlessly to hold you [Lil Baby] accountable” and has offered a $50,000 reward for more information.
The two teens were among three boys shot outside of Davis’ home as they celebrated Freeman’s birthday. ATL PD has arrested seven people in association with the shooting. Quiyontay Sanders, Richard Hollis, Reginald Thomas, Dekeitheon Mobley, and Markus Crawford are charged with murder. Two final suspects, Tradon Crawford and Ali Caldwell, were arrested this past Tuesday.
