Cameron Boozer of Christopher Columbus High School in Miami, Florida, has been named the 2024-25 Gatorade National Boys Basketball Player of the Year, marking his second consecutive win. Boozer joins an elite group of past winners who have achieved NBA MVP honors, All-Star appearances, and championship victories.

Boozer was selected from more than half a million high school players nationwide, Boozer was surprised by the award by Miami Heat power forward and former Gatorade Player of the Year Kevin Love. The celebration included a styling session, photoshoot, and media interviews, offering Boozer a taste of life as a professional athlete.

Beyond his dominance on the court, Boozer is a standout off it. An accomplished cellist, he has performed with a local orchestra and is active in his community, assisting with youth services at Fellowship Church and tutoring peers in mathematics. Academically, he maintains a weighted 4.88 GPA and has signed with Duke University to continue his basketball career this fall.

“Cameron Boozer’s body of work speaks for itself,” said Matt McKay, Jr., CEO of Pro Insight. “He will be remembered not just as one of the most dominant high school players in recent memory, but as one of the greatest winners of all time at the prep level.”

As part of Gatorade’s Player of the Year program, Boozer will also receive a grant to donate to a social impact organization of his choice. The initiative has provided over $5.6 million in grants to support athletes and communities nationwide.
