Chris Brown Case Update: Music Producer Drops Tequila Bottle Lawsuit

Chris Brown Announces 'The 11:11 Tour' with Special Guests Ayra Starr and Muni Long

A civil lawsuit accusing singer-songwriter Chris Brown of grievous bodily harm stemming from a 2023 bar brawl has been dropped, a development that follows Brown’s recent arrest in London related to the incident.

Last month, Brown was arrested on charges of grievous bodily harm after a music producer alleged that the artist struck him in the head with a tequila bottle during a February 2023 altercation at a London nightclub.

However, according to a report from Rolling Stone, citing documents from Los Angeles court, the music producer, Amadou “Abe” Diaw, has requested a dismissal of his lawsuit against Brown with prejudice. This means Diaw cannot refile the case in court. While the lawsuit has been dropped, a settlement between the two parties has not yet been officially confirmed.

Diaw’s lawsuit, which sought $16 million in damages, claimed that Brown not only hit him with a tequila bottle but also stomped on him, leading to his hospitalization. Previously, The New York Times reported that Chris Brown pleaded not guilty to the criminal charge of grievous bodily harm with intent related to the same incident.

This latest development in the civil case marks a significant turn in the ongoing legal saga involving the Grammy-winning artist.
