Nike is reintroducing its iconic rallying cry “Just Do It” to a new generation through the launch of its latest campaign, Why Do It? Designed to connect with young athletes, the initiative reframes greatness as a choice, not an outcome, and emboldens today’s generation to write the next chapter.

The campaign kicks off with a cinematic anthem featuring global stars including Carlos Alcaraz, LeBron James, Saquon Barkley, Caitlin Clark, Rayssa Leal, Qinwen Zheng, and more. The film highlights the courage it takes to begin, even in a world where failure can feel daunting and the pressure to quit looms large.
“‘Just Do It’ isn’t just a slogan — it’s a spirit that lives in every heartbeat of sport,” said Nicole Graham, EVP & Chief Marketing Officer. “With ‘Why Do It?,’ we’re igniting that spark for a new generation, daring them to step forward with courage, trust in their own potential and discover the greatness that unfolds the moment they decide to begin.”
Athletes featured in the campaign reinforced that message. “Greatness is something you earn with every choice, every workout and every comeback,” said Barkley. Caitlin Clark added, “You won’t make every shot and you won’t win every game. But every time you step on the court and compete, you have a chance to be great.”
Since its debut in 1988, “Just Do It” has evolved from a tagline into a global mindset, inspiring everyone from everyday runners to sports icons. With Why Do It? Nike recommits to its founding belief that sport is for every body and background, reminding athletes everywhere that starting is often the hardest and most powerful step.
