A 9-year-old girl was rushed to a nearby hospital after being shot by her 12-year-old brother who was playing with a gun inside their home in Newark Saturday, authorities said.
According to NBC News, the girl’s brother shot his sister with a 9 mm handgun in the chest just after 12 p.m. The handgun was left unsecured in the home on Renner Avenue.
The girl remains in critical condition. Meanwhile, police are continuing to investigate.
