NFL: Chargers To Remain In San Diego For 2016 Season, But Other Options Still Available

Friday afternoon (January 29), the San Diego Chargers revealed that they will remain in the same city for the 2016 season, all while making an attempt to find a long-term stadium within the city.

Chargers owner Dean Spanos:

This has been our home for 55 years and I want to keep the team here and provide the world-class stadium experience you deserve

The team had originally agreed verbally to share a stadium in Inglewood, CA with the recently relocated Los Angeles Rams. The Chargers were previously looking into a a stadium in Carson, CA worth nearly $2 billion that they would have shared with the Oakland Raiders but those plans were later disregarded. With that said, the Chargers still have until January 15, 2017 to move on a one-year option to move to Los Angeles. Only time will tell.
