At yesterday’s reveal of Kanye West‘s The Life of Pablo album, MSG attendees, moviegoers and live stream viewers were treated to the world premiere of Yeezy’s 7th LP, his first studio album since 2013’s Yeezus. With all the hype surrounding the album and the rumors circulating on social media, it was certainly a marquee event, and as much as all eyes were on West’s third fashion collection, Yeezy Season 3, his new music was equally scrutinized.
On one of the early songs on the album, “Famous,” Kanye name-drops Taylor Swift, claiming that he made her famous.
“I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/I made that b*tch famous”
For the record, it plays more like, “I made that b*tch faaaaaaaamous.” According to Jon Caramanica of the New York Times, Kanye reached out to Taylor Swift to get the lyrics approved first, but she did no such thing, and in fact used the word “misogyny” in her warning to Kanye, which was delivered through a spokesperson.
Caramanica’s caption couldn’t be more accurate. For added effect, here’s a video clip of Taylor Swift’s brother, Austin, throwing his Yeezy Boosts in the garbage. Chances are, he’s not getting rid of the in-demand shoes because they’re a size too small.
