AESOP ROCK DROPS GRAPHIC VIDEO FOR “RINGS” AND ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM THE IMPOSSIBLE KID VIA RHYMESAYERS

Without so much as a whisper of his return, Aesop Rock is suddenly back with a new video for “Rings,” the first single off of his upcoming album, The Impossible Kid, due out April 29 via Rhymesayers Entertainment.

The Impossible Kid is a lot of reflecting on feeling displaced, family and friends, depression, aging, New York, and pet-ownership,” Aesop Rock tells The Source.” I feel less inclined to care if I fit into any scene or sub-scene than ever, and more focused on trying to do the best writing I’ve done.”

The dexterous wordsmith has been crafting indelible rhymes since emerging with 1997’s Music for Earthworms. Since then, he’s released several critically acclaimed albums, including 2007’s None Shall Pass and his last album, 2012’s Skelethon.

In true Aesop Rock form, “Rings” is an honest depiction of his most private thoughts told through a series of tongue-twisting, complex rhymes. Produced by Aesop himself, the track features additional synthesizers by Grimace Federation, bass by James Lynch and scratches performed by DJ Zone. If this is any indication of what’s to come from The Impossible Kid, expect one of the best Hip Hop albums of 2016.
