FLOTUS was present at the festival to deliver a keynote speech and also took part in a Q&A moderated by Queen Latifah. Latifah asked Obama if she had considered running for President and Obama was quoted saying, “I will not run for President.” She said she wouldn’t want her daughters to have to endure another parent being in the White House.

According to reports, Obama said, “Being the daughters of a president, just think about it. Not so easy. They handled it with grace and poise.”

Earlier this year, President Barack Obama foresaw her response before she relayed it to the public, and while a Rasmussen poll, which was conducted last year, indicated very few respondents expected her to run, respondents did say they would support a second Obama presidency.

FLOTUS attended SXSW festival as the keynote speaker where she focused her speech on challenges faced by millions of girls around the world, especially when it comes to education. In her speech, she spoke about her Let Girls Learn initiative that is said to help this issue.
