Wendy’s Denies Supporting Trump Campaign, Commits $500,000 for Social Justice Reform

Wendy’s caught a ton of heat on social media after false reports came out that the fast-food chain had donated to Donald Trump’s reelection campaign. Wendy’s responded on Wednesday showing that they stand with Black people seeking change and pledged $500,000 for social justice reform.

“Our voice would be nothing without Black culture. Right now, a lot of people are hurting because of blatant racism against Black people. Their voices need to be heard. Period. #BlackLivesMatter” Wendy’s tweeted Wednesday evening.

The half-million-dollar commitment will come with receipts according to the fast-food chain’s tweet. They plan to start their philanthropy with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund.
