The NBA All-Star game normally floats around Valentine’s Day but was called off from taking over Indiana this year. A report from ESPN details the annual game has a possibility of being revived for 2021, with the eyes on Atlanta.
The NBA and the National Basketball Players Association are discussing the possibility of holding a game in early March.
The Atlanta All-Star game would be a scaled-down version of the weekend that would occur during the midseason break of March 5-10.
NBPA President and Phoenix Suns guard Chris Paul is at the center of the idea with the focus on showcasing and benefitting historically Black colleges and universities while also supporting COVID-19 relief funds.
Atlanta is also the home of Turner Sports, allowing for the TNT crew to televise the game.
