The Marvel machine is back to work, and Shang-Chi is its latest hit. Shang-Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings have become the second biggest opening of the pandemic. The number one spot goes to its Marvel predecessor in Black Widow.

Shang-Chi’s weekend numbers are $71.4 million in America and a global number of $127.6 million. The Hollywood Reporter notes the opening three days for Black Widow was $80.3 million.

In the film, Shang-Chi, the master of unarmed weaponry-based Kung Fu, is forced to confront his past after being drawn into the Ten Rings organization.
