Australian Producer and Songwriter Haan Continues To Break Barriers In 2022

Haan is only 19 years old, yet he’s one of the few hip-hop producers from Australia to make it to the American music scene. Music was introduced to him at a young age by his father, who produced and performed instruments as a hobby. Haan began playing the guitar and keyboard when he was eight years old, accompanying himself to songs on the radio such as the Fugees’ “Killing Me Softly.”

Haan is thrilled to be joining the WARNER CHAPPELL family and adding his name to the impressive list of producers who call WARNER home. He’s excited to get started with the team and discover new methods to grow as a producer and a businessman. He expresses his gratitude to everyone who assisted him in making this possible.”

We learned a lot about Haan’s path into the music industry through a recent chat between Genius and him. Haan went on to say that he didn’t begin producing until January of last year. He was usually playing with stuff and listening to music. When he resided in Australia, he used to do vocals, record himself, and write music with LAROI. When he travelled out here [to Los Angeles] with him, he was actually DJing. He used to do DJ parties and gigs.

“You’re with me every day in the studio, why don’t you start producing?” Laroi said after a while. It piqued the interest of Haan. He already had a strong grasp on the subject of music. He’s only recently started putting that into practice, working in the studio with Kid Laroi every day. He was driven to improve by Laroi since he was always working with an artist and instead of making beats, he was writing meaningful songs.

Kid Laroi and Haan met during a concert when they were both barred due to age limits. In Sydney, Australia, Haan and Kid Laroi reconnected again after the concert. It was a relatively tiny scene back there in comparison to America. They were major rap aficionados, and their neighbourhood had a modest scene, but it was heavily inspired by American and British culture. At such a young age, they were the only ones who could make music.

Genius also inquired as to why he had not produced in such a long time. To which Haan replied, “Being self-assured, not scared to be yourself, forming relationships, and being outgoing are the best pieces of advice. I’ve wanted to stay in bed or avoid going to parties at times, but things like that are quite beneficial to him. One must move in an artist’s fashion”.
