Back in October, Young Thug was released from prison after spending over two years behind bars. As part of his plea deal, the rapper is now on probation and must stay out of the metro Atlanta area for the first 10 years of his sentence. However, there are exceptions for specific circumstances, including weddings, funerals, family emergencies, and community service.
According to WSBTV, a Fulton County judge recently granted a motion allowing Young Thug to travel through Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The ruling permits him to use commercial air travel for business and other lawful purposes.
This decision comes just weeks after a judge partially granted another request to amend his probation terms. In his filing, Young Thug noted that many of his family members live in Atlanta and requested permission to visit. “Mr. Williams has family in the metro Atlanta area, specifically in the Atlanta, Georgia area,” the motion stated. “He respectfully requests the ability to reside/visit at times in his home, as outlined in the attached, under-seal document.”
The motion further explained his desire to host family gatherings during holidays and spend time with loved ones, friends, and business associates at his Atlanta residence. The judge ruled that after successfully completing the first three years of his probation, Young Thug will be allowed to spend up to eight weeks per year in Atlanta. These visits can last up to two weeks at a time but cannot be consecutive.
