The Pittsburgh Steelers made a significant splash in free agency Sunday night, acquiring star wide receiver DK Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for a 2025 second-round pick, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The teams will also swap 2025 sixth- and seventh-round selections as part of the deal.
Metcalf, 27, had requested a trade on March 5 while entering the final year of his three-year, $72 million extension. Rather than let the Pro Bowl receiver hit the open market, Pittsburgh quickly locked him in with a new five-year, $150 million contract—averaging $30 million annually.
With this move, the Steelers add an explosive weapon to their offense and signal their commitment to contending in the AFC.
